Products I REGRET Buying | Beauty

Hello :) Today I was sorting out my makeup storage when I came across a few products that made me wonder, "Why the hell did I buy these?". So I thought I'd make a little blog post on it (obviously).

I bought this Rimmel Hide the Blemish concealer quite a while ago... and I've only used it once. First of all, it looks really orange on my skin. I know I have pale skin, but this is the lightest shade so I wasn't impressed. But it also looks very cakey on the skin and doesn't blend or settle. It wasn't very expensive but I'm still quite disappointed by this product as I'm a big fan of Rimmel. But their concealers have definitely improved since then, so I'll forgive them :')

Next up is this Barbara Daily Long Wear Eyeshadow. I blame my tiredness and utter stupidity for the failure of this product. It was around 10 o'clock on a Friday and I was wandering around Tesco's, while my Mum was getting milk etc., and I had a look at some of the makeup stalls they have there. I thought that the Barbara Daily Eyeliner Pen looked really good and wanted to try something new.. but being the idiot I am, I picked this up by accident. And only realised when I got home and had ripped the packaging to shreds. Oh well.
This product probably works for other people, but it just doesn't suit me at all. I don't wear very dramatic colours on my eyes and I found this overly pigmented and hard to apply. It also made me look a bit like a drag queen - which isn't the best thing to be honest.

I think the next product is the one I am most disappointed with. This was my first NYX purchase and I had pretty good expectations after reading some reviews and watching some YouTube videos. But when I recieved this disaster in the post, I wasn't impressed at all. The lipstick is called Pure Nude and online it looked like a  pretty, pinky nude for fair skin. What I recieved was an orangey, cakey lipstick that highlights all the dry skin on your lips and makes  you look half dead. Seriously.
I tried to turn it into a lip balm by depotting some of it (as you can probably see from the second photo) so I won't have wasted all my money. But, yeah, I probably won't be going back to NYX anytime soon.

I bought this NYC Lip Stain on a complete whim, and considering that it was only £2.49 I'm not surprised it didn't last long. Before it dried up, it was a really pretty, pink shade and lasted well on the lips. But of course after only one week it completely dried up. Honestly, it wasn't really a waste of money, just a waste of time. I think next time I'll go for something like the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains.

I can't believe I still have this eyeshadow.. I must have bought it at least a year and a half ago and maybe used it once? For some reason grey eyeshadows rarely looks good on me and this one definitely didn't. It wasn't very pigmented and applied quite 'patchy' (if that makes sense). It was just an overall disappointment really, considering how good Maybelline eyeshadows are now. And also, I wouldn't have called a silver/grey eyeshadow 'Cosmic Black' - just sayin'!

I know a lot of people may be surprised by this, but I just cannot seem to get on with this Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation. When I bought it I was really excited as I'd seen so many amazing reviews and recommendations and thought that it'd be perfect for me. But when I tried it; first of all the lightest shade was too dark for me (and I'm not that pale) and it looked quite cakey on my dry skin.
I am so gutted, it seems to work for everyone except me. Does anyone else have the same problem as me with this foundation?

Hope you enjoyed this post :) Hopefully there will be a 'Most Worn Outfits' post coming soon so stay tuned!
