Revlon Lip Butter - Berry Smoothie | Review

Hey everyone :)

I just came back from shopping and had to write a review of this product as soon as I tried it - which was half an hour ago haha :)

It's the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. I know everyone's probably fed up of these things by now and I've even had one of these before (which ended in disaster, I'll explain later). But this one really caught my eye for some reason. 

 

It's a beautiful, sheer berry colour with a slight shimmer that's noticeable in the swatch but not on the lips. I'm sure you all know the concept of the lip butters but just in case, they are the middle ground between a lipstick and a balm and are very moisturizing. I love sheer colours so instantly fell in love, but they also have some brighter, more opaque colours such as Lollipop and Candy Apple if you're looking for a more bold lip.

 

I've owned another of these lip butters before in the shade Sugar Frosting, but I didn't have a very good experience with it. It's a very pale and shimmery colour that I used to layer over tints and matte colours which worked a treat. But I bought it in the summer and once when I returned from a holiday I found that it had almost completely melted. Yes, melted.

I was pretty gutted as I had to depot it from its beautiful packaging - another big bonus! - and I'm hoping that it won't happen again. It should be okay though as it's very cold outside, fingers crossed!

 

As you see it's quite sheer and is perfect for school as it's not too noticeable but gives the perfect pop of colour. You can also layer it up for an evening look or more formal event. I'd describe it as a 'your lips but better' kind of product and I'm sure I'll be wearing it to death over the next few weeks :)

Have you tried some of the other lip butters? I'm looking to buy a few more and would love some recommendations. Or if you know some similar products that would be really helpful as well.
