Hello everyone :)
My AS exams have finished and I'm finally back - just in time for summer beauty releases! Today I went shopping for some of my summer essentials for smooth, tanned skin (as I was seriously lacking) and I thought it would be great to share them with you if you're stuck for what to buy.
All of these products were from the drugstore/highstreet, so this post will be helpful for those of you on a budget.
Up first is an old favourite of mine - the Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub. Can I just say, this stuff smells amazing. It's a mixture of brown sugary goodness and lime which is nice and fresh for the summer months.
This scrub is great for getting your legs smooth and ready for the hot weather, and is also just really pleasant to use. Some people aren't a fan of tubs - it can become quite a task in the shower - but I don't really mind, considering it's a real bargain at £8. And as always from Soap & Glory, the packaging is gorgeous, girly and retro theme - which I absolutely adore.
Continuing with the smooth skin theme, a shaving gel is vital for getting soft bump-free legs. I have quite dry and sensitive skin, so I always go for a formula that provides extra nourishment. My personal favourite at the moment is the Boots Smooth Care Shave Gel for Dry Skin - it moisturises the skin. leaves a pleasant scent and is only £2.85. They also do a formula for Sensitive skin if you're interested.
I'm not really one for fake-tanning, but having ridiculously pale skin I do like a bit of colour during summer. My all time favourite has to be the Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion, a gradual self-tanner that you apply just like a moisturiser. It's completely foolproof and comes in two versions - Fair to Medium Skin and Medium to Dark Skin.
I also think they've changed the formula recently as the scent is slightly fruitier - it's still as good as before though!
My last essential is a face mask. When the weather's hot I rarely wear foundation or face makeup, but when my skin's playing up I can feel slightly exposed. To tackle this, I try and keep my skin clear and healthy by using regular face masks, my favourites on a budget are these Superdrug 99p masks.
As I have quite sensitive skin, I have reactions to the majority of highstreet masks which is a real pain. However, I have never reacted to these masks and they always leave my skin nice and refreshed. I like the clay mask for unclogging pores and calming my skin, the yoghurt mask is great for giving my skin a pick me up.
So those were my recommended summer products for smooth, healthy and glowing skin this summer. I hope this gave you some ideas and if you have any other bargain summer buys please share in the comments!
