Natio Mineral Crystal Loose Foundation | Review

Hello everyone :)

If you haven't already read my last post, this week my blog's going Aussie-style as my Mum kindly brought back lots of Australian beauty bits for me to try. So, next up on the agenda is the Natio Mineral Crystal Loose Foundation..

Natio is a plant-based beauty brand in Australia that describes itself as 'affordable', but I'm not sure if I'd call $17.95 affordable for a tiny pot of foundation.

I was quite excited when my Mum gave me this as I've always wanted to delve into the world of mineral foundations, but always assumed that they would make my dry skin look even flakier. This foundation definitely does not accentuate my dry patches, but honestly I'm not a huge fan. It really doesn't give me much coverage at all and the colour is (as per usual) too yellow toned for me. I know it's designed for bronzed, Australian girls but I know there are girls out there who are even paler than me.

I applied this with a dense powder brush and was just left with slightly yellow skin - not what I was really going for. However, using this product as a sort of bronzer is a great way to warm up your complexion during the winter months, and this is certainly what I'll be using it for.

In terms of packaging, this is nowhere near as messy as I was expecting for a loose foundation and the small pot would be great for travelling.

As you can see, it really doesn't give much in the way of coverage - and the lighting here is quite kind as it doesn't show how wrong this colour was for me!

So to conclude, I'm not completely sold on the whole mineral foundation phenomenon. I think I'll just stick to liquid foundations in the future. However I do have a few more products from Natio to review for you which are a lot more promising - so be sure to check back.

Also, as you can probably tell, I've just gotten a new camera so the quality of my photos are a lot better. If you'd like me to do a post on it just let me know in the comments :)
