Hello everyone :)
Happy New Year! To kick off 2014 I'm going to be starting a new series called 'Makeup Mess Mondays' (in my attempt to start blogging every week). I'll try to do one of these plus a review each week, but seeing as I have a lot of coursework and exams coming up I can't promise anything..
Anyway, the purpose of this post is to show you what products I reach for each week. I tend to change up my routine quite often and as I'm now earning money it means I can experiment with more products - yay!
You'll probably notice that the majority of these products are from MAC as my parents very kindly gave me some products for Christmas. I've been loving this Showstopper palette at the moment - especially the shades Oh My Darling and Jest for a natural but unique rose gold effect. If you'd like a review on any of these products just let me know!
Next up is a product I've been um-ing and ah-ing about for probably a year - I have no idea why as it's under a fiver. It's the much hyped about Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I was never a huge wearer of powder but my skin has been getting quite shiny throughout the day and this is great for keeping oiliness at bay, even on my dry skin.
Also from MAC is the oh so famous Paint Pot in Soft Ochre. I am in love with this product - not only is it a great base for eyeshadow, but it's amazing for those days when you're in a rush but need to look presentable. One sweep of this and the discolouration on my lids is gone. Amazing.
My search for the perfect 'everyday' lipstick has finally ended - MAC Plumful is the colour I've been looking for all my life (slight exaggeration). It's a beautiful sheer, plum colour that looks great for everyday wear but can also look great for more formal events. I'd definitely recommend this as an alternative to a red lip for those who find bold lip colours a bit daunting - aka me.
That's it for my first Makeup Mess Monday. The inspiration came from when I was doing my makeup for school then suddenly realised that I just spread it all over my desk and pick at random. So, that's what I'll be doing each week for you - let me know what you think in the comments and send me the link if you try it out too!

P.S. I wrote this on Monday but due to technical issues it only posted today - sorry! x
